Saturday 11 April 2026 8.00 pm Kirkcaldy Old Kirk
We are delighted to start our 2026 season with a quartet of musicians led by award-winning tenor saxophonist Harben Kay who is quickly becoming recognised as a leading creative voice in UK jazz, with three critically acclaimed albums, five UK tours and performances at esteemed jazz venues such as Ronnie Scott’s, The Royal Albert Hall and The Vortex.
Their latest release, Firn (2026), was recorded on the same day as their third album The World I Live In (2025) and similarly released on Kay’s own label Sulis Records. Conceived as a reflective companion piece, Firn continues in the exploration of themes including change and transformation, and how these processes shape creative expression.
Harben will be joined for the concert by
Peter Johnstone – piano
Ali Watson – double bass
Alyn Cosker – drums
