Saturday 7 November 2026 Kirkcaldy Old Kirk 8.00 pm

Two Scottish jazz titans, trumpeter Colin Steele (winner of Best Jazz Instrumentalist 2025) and saxophonist Martin Kershaw bring the sunshine sounds from the giants of the 1950s West Coast cool school to Kirkcaldy! Chet Baker and Stan Getz exemplified the laid-back soulful sounds of 1950’s Californian jazz, Steele and Kershaw will be playing their greatest hits from ‘My Funny Valentine’ to ‘Girl From Ipanema’.

This all star band also features Dave Milligan (Piano) Brian Shiels (Bass) Max Popp (drums).

Review
“The best music I saw might have been Martin Kershaw and Colin Steele playing 50s bebop at the Jazz Bar, which I wasn’t expecting, but it made me hear that music as a living organism rather than a museum piece.” Stewart Lee
