Kirkcaldy Foodbank needs donations more than ever in these difficult times so we are delighted to host another event for them at this year’s Langtoun Jazz Festival. If you are a lover of Big Band Music you will love Inverkeithing Community Big Band ! No tickets required, just make a donation at the door if you can. A member of the Foodbank fundraising team will be on hand to take donations so please give generously.
Inverkeithing Community Big Band is a Fife and Edinburgh based group of amateur musicians who meet once a week to play a wide repertoire of jazz and big band music including Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Stan Kenton, Maynard Fergusson and much much more. Started in 1998 with lottery funding, and with the aim of being open to all abilities, they are an inclusive group. Nevertheless, they work hard to play to the best standard they can and continually expand their repertoire and musical expertise.
The band typically performs at half a dozen gigs a year in the Fife and Edinburgh area, and occasionally further afield. They have performed at birthday parties, wedding anniversaries, numerous charity events and perform regularly at Edinburgh Fringe Festival. To date they have helped local groups and charities to raise in the region of £25,000.
Doors open 3.30 for 4.00 pm.
